We couldn't see the eclipse at all for a time, so I took this of raindrops on the windshield.

2017 Total Solar Eclipse - St. Joseph, MO (4K)
Since the total eclipse was obscured by cloud cover, I couldn't take photos. Instead, I shot this quick little video of the 360º sunset at totality. It was disappointing to not see the eclipse itself, but seeing this effect and the darkness at totality was an incredible experience.

Shout-out to my finger for photobombing part of the video.

Eclipse Time Lapse - St. Joseph, MO
I used the "set it and forget it" method with this. I made sure that my Go Pro was pointed high enough and in the right direction for the eclipse and just sat it on top of our van. Otherwise, I left it alone, including when a shower rolled thru shortly before totality.

Overall, not a bust of a trip as you can really tell when the moon's shadow crosses overhead.

A photo of the eclipse, 4 minutes after totality ended (C3). Not sure I can explain the coloration that happened here. Love this.
