If no one is really using the sight then id just say shut it down... Then if someone really wants the drumline to have a site after that let them deal with all the work. If its a hastle to you then just end it.

I don't think "the kids" use this.  If they did, I likely wouldn't be this serious.

As I said three weeks ago, people don't come around very often anymore, so I've left this open for debate ever since.  In the meantime, I've had to remove probably 50 or more spam Guestbook postings advertising anything from pornographic websites to discount drugs.  That takes quite a bit of time for me to accurately filter the junk from the legit.

Dont shut down the site, it is the only public domain for the lincoln drumline. Besides if there is lackluster traffic, than maintaining it should require a small amount of your time. Think of the kids.

I can't honestly say that the degradation of content and activity on this site has had any adverse affect on me.  At worst, it's just been disappointing.  This site was never "hopping," but the complete lack of activity lately is pretty amazing.  I actually spend more time removing spam Guestbook posts than doing anything else for this site.

Your idea has already been put into place on sites like Drumlines.org.  I didn't create this site to become a giant drummer forum, but only as a way to give back to Lincoln, specifically the band and drumline, for some of the most fun and character-building years I think I'll ever have.

I'm now five years removed from high school.  The freshman I taught in my senior year will be juniors in college next year.  I only know the younger sibling of a fellow snare during my time at Lincoln who happens to now be on the snare line, or so I was told when the 2005-2006 information was added.

If it's really not serving any purpose to anyone, why should I keep it up and running?  This isn't an attention-getting temper tantrum, here; it's mere logic.  If no one's coming around and no one's updating it, hasn't this site outlived its usefulness?

Brent, That which makes you weak also makes you strong. Understand where you are coming from. Problem with this site is you have mostly local kids who do not have the passion you do about the "art" of drumming. No one cares. You ask simple questions to the site and you get a bunch of nothing back. Open it up to percussionist from all over. Get it networked on many links as possible, and have a open forum where drummers can talk, argue, and go to war for their school or whatever. Problem is, Lincoln is just a shadow of where it once was and no one cares.

I've had this thought many times before, but have never been this serious:

What would you folks think about me shutting this site down?  There's very little activity here, I have little to no access to things like schedules to be able to keep it up-to-date, plus there is an official site for the band in the works; I know that because I helped make the initial design.  I initially volunteered to do the entire thing, but found I had little time to devote to it.

So, give me some feedback.  I know people don't visit as often as they once did, so I'll be patient.  Should it stay or should it go?

technically its not a michael jackson show... but it does have thriller as our first song... the theme is "thriller" and it also has something like slaughter on 11ave and sleepy hollow but no one cares about those... just thriller!

You might have a point there.  Well, to anyone that could be reading this, consider this an open invitation to start up conversation.

How about this:
Has anyone found out if this year's DCI Championships will be on ESPN2 again as they were last year?  I can only find this site with some mention of it.

I IMAGINE THEIR WOULD BE MORE VISITORS BUT WHEN YOU POST PEOPLE MAKE FUN OF YOU AND TAKE ALL OF THE FUN OUT OF THIS SITE. PLUS PEOPLE COMPLAIN THIS IS A SIGN IN FOR VISITORS AND NOT FOR THE BAND.
