  • At 735 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

The National Weather Service in Des Moines IA has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Iowa...

Fourmile Creek at Des Moines Easton Blvd affecting Polk County.

  • WHAT: Moderate flooding is forecast.

  • WHERE: The Fourmile Creek at Des Moines Easton Blvd, or from below Interstate 80 to the Des Moines River.

  • WHEN: From late tonight to early tomorrow afternoon.

  • IMPACTS: At 14.0 feet, Widespread flooding occurs along the reaches of the creek primarily upstream from Easton Blvd near the Hubbell overpass. Water affects lowland areas of the community center near Easton Blvd.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS: - At 8:45 PM CDT Monday the stage was 5.3 feet. - Forecast... The river is expected to rise above flood stage just after midnight tonight to a crest of 14.1 feet late tonight. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow morning. - Flood stage is 12.5 feet.
